Due to the increasing cost of natural gas the State of New Mexico sought after alternative fuels for the Ft. Bayard Medical Center’s 400 hp steam boiler. The existing gas fired 400 HP steam boiler was converted to a wood burning boiler. The project consisted of a design for the fuel storage system, fuel feeding system, and ash removal system and all required electrical interconnection and control of the systems.
